Social Issue Clock
In 2014, more than five million negative tweets were posted about women’s beauty and body image, 80% of them posted by women talking about themselves. This clock explores this study done by Dove. I titled it “distortion” because social media is affecting not only the way we view women, but the way women view themselves. The pieces are cut from acrylic and the designs are stickers cut from vinyl. The lid is etched with negative tweets and the inside has the description.
